Dibs on Ribs
"Free" pattern found on Interweave Knits website in the Subscriber Only section Yarn: Noro Kureyon in color #139
Started February 3 and finished February 16, 2006 (BTW: In case you don't know this already, it's pretty cold and dreary here in Maine in February so there isn't much else to do besides knit and watch the tube if you don't ski)
Comments: I love love love everything about this pattern. It was really fun to knit and just challenging enough to stay interesting. I've even toyed with the idea of making another one in neutral colors. The only modification I made was to omit the little extra bit of ribbing at the sides of the neck and I only worked one row of single crochet. I did buy an extra skein of yarn to match my stripes. As much as I love this sweater, I kind of feel like it's a Knitter's sweater - like something only a Knitter can appreciate. A walking show and tell. Oh who cares anyway? I wore it to our local Knit and Spa weekend at the Doubletree Hotel in Portland, and this boy, who had to be all of 10 years old, came up to me and said "I love your sweater". He smiled every time he saw me. It was very cute. Tim thought he had a crush on me. I prefer to think that he is a born knitter.
